Buddy attended the University of Alabama on a football scholarship where he earned a Bachelor’s degree. He continued graduate school at the same institution, receiving his M.A. and Ph.D. During his graduate study, he became interested in corporate consulting through involvement in test validation studies in the industrial setting.
Upon completing an internship at Birmingham’s Children’s Hospital, he continued his employment there for two more years working with children, teens, and families in a therapeutic setting. He completed his graduate study in 1978.
Upon earning his Ph.D., he pursued his interest in corporate consulting. In 1989, he co-founded Blankenship & Seay Consulting Group. He has over 20 years experience in the fields of employee selection, leadership and employee development, executive coaching and development, career assessment, and organizational problem solving. He is also active in civic, church, and professional endeavors. Buddy and his wife, Becky, have a son and a daughter.
